I’m weeks behind in doing so but I did want to take a moment to highly recommend Joe Janus if you are currently looking for a realtor or know someone that is. I am first time home buyer and so naturally, I had a million plus one questions. Joe took the time to answer each question and spoke to me on a level that I could easily understand. I previously worked with other realtors that made me feel foolish for not being educated in real estate. I never felt that way when working with Joe. Between his knowledge, professionalism and a great sense of humor I quickly became better educated about the process. I will also highly commend Joe’s patience with me as by nature, I can be an impatient person. Questions were always answered quickly and succinctly. Joe and I worked together over the course of 6 months during which time, many of my requests to see homes were very last minute and each time, Joe made sure I saw the property within 24 hours. I can only imagine what changes he made to his own personal schedule to ensure I had the opportunity to view a listing promptly. He even met me one evening with only an hour’s notice and it was very apparent upon showing up to the listing that he was feeling quite under the weather but explained it was important to him that I see this new listing before many others had the chance. No ‘sick days’ in Joe’s world. Joe has a keen ability too to read his client. When setting up the website search, properties I would never consider rarely came across and those that did were spot on. Perhaps another example of this ability is when viewing properties, there were those upon walking through the front door, I immediately knew weren’t for me. I hate to waste someone’s time let alone my own and in those instances Joe was quick to assess the situation and quickly suggest we move onto the next listing. His experience also allowed him to help me see pitfalls and shortcomings on properties that on my own would have most likely gone unnoticed. Many times something would look great on the surface but he would pose different questions for me to think about or openly share his concern on poor workmanship or potential fixes that would be needed in the near future. He also kept me on point about my “must have” list vs. “wish” list and times when I would get excited about a listing, he would point out if fell short of my “must have” list and challenge me to consider if weeks, months, or years ahead I would regret giving up on my “must-have” list. In short, while I don’t foresee buying another home anytime in the near future, I would without hesitation gladly work with Joe again. I hope you’ll consider doing the same.
